ABOUT PATRICK
Experienced Counselor working with individuals, families, couples, and adolescents.
I have been in practice for over 35 years specializing in but certainly not limited to:
Mood Disorders
Men's Issues
Trauma and PTSD
I have also worked extensively with clients dealing with a whole range of issues: Anxiety, Autism, Bipolar Disorder, Borderline Personality, Child or Adolescent, Codependency, Depression, Developmental Disorders, Divorce, Family Conflict, Grief, Intellectual Disability, Life Transitions, Marital and Premarital, Parenting, Peer Relationships, Relationship Issues, Self Esteem, Spirituality, Stress
COLLABORATIVE APPROACH
Not limited to but including: trauma, depression, anxiety, boy's and men's mental health and well being, Autism spectrum disorder, Dissociative Identity Disorder, relational struggles and aging.
I believe and have participated in a collaborative approach to therapy for those whom this makes sense. Working with school personnel, coaches, physicians, physician assistants, family members, and anyone the client/customer wishes to have involved in their treatment.
MEN AND BOYS
A major focus for me has been addressing the health and well being for boys and men. This means directly confronting the male code that has encouraged males to back away from selfcare both for their mental and medical health needs. As males, we have:
Trauma History: sexual abuse, physical abuse, verbal and psychological abuse.
Depression
Anxiety
Physical Ailments influenced by stress and our insistence on following the male code of silence and disconnection from emotions/feelings.
Confusion about our roles as parents, friends, care givers, intimate partners, providers.
The definition of being male remains limited. This keeps us stuck and lost with how to interact with the people in our lives. Therapy can help look closer at the messages you carry that influence your behaviors and help you decide if and how you want to change those messages to enhcane your overall connection to yourself and others.
FOR ALL CUSTOMERS / CLIENTS
In a safe, accepting, inviting way, we will sit and develop a connection which allows for openness in exploring ways to alleviate the struggle and find clarity for your moving forward towards emotional well-being. Many of us struggle with shame and blame which influence our health and well being. Let's together find a way through to freeing ourselves from this bind.
